High quality fruit fly food with an anti-mould agent in 100mm x 53mm large plastic specimen tubes. Each ready-made media vial comes with a foam stopper. These vials contain approximately 4x the quantity of media to the small media tubes we offer.
To ensure freshness, all media tubes are prepared to order at our lab in Shropshire and dispatched on a Monday (along with drosophila orders). We recommend storing in the fridge until use and adding the flies within 1 week of receipt.
We used to send our media tubes with a small sachet of yeast and plastic ladders however we no longer do so. This is because the media itself contains plenty of yeast to aid fermentation (fruit flies like 'off' foods) and the ladders have now been proven to be unnecessary as well as contributing to plastic waste. If you do still with to use yeast and ladders these can be purchased separately.
