We are delighted to share that Meg Bilson, Managing Director and founder of Darwin Biological, has recently completed the Shropshire Leadership Programme run by the Aston Centre for Enterprise and Entrepreneurship. This initiative, delivered by Aston University and funded through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, was designed to support ambitious small businesses in Shropshire through interactive workshops, one-to-one mentoring, peer-to-peer learning, and tailored action planning.
The programme provided a rich curriculum including leadership and management insights from Aston University experts, personalised mentoring to tackle real-world business challenges, a strategic action plan geared toward sustainable business growth, and peer networking to exchange experience and knowledge.
Megβs participation reflects Darwin Biologicalβs deep-rooted belief in continuous professional development (CPD). We champion learning not just for our customers -schools, colleges, and universities - but also for our team. These practical CPD hours help us stay attuned to educational trends and deliver safe, relevant, exciting biology resources.
At Darwin Biological, we see a direct link between strong leadership inspired by external learning platforms like the Shropshire Leadership Programme, skilled teams trained through CPD to deliver safe, engaging educational experiences, and better outcomes for the educators and learners who rely on our biological specimens and support.
Megβs journey reflects our ethos: investing in people to ensure innovation and excellence in education. We are already seeing the positive impact of Megβs enhanced leadership strategies, from internal processes to customer engagement and strategic growth plans.Β
A heartfelt thanks to Aston University for helping us stay at the forefront of leadership and science education. Together, we are nurturing better science experiences today and building the leaders of tomorrow.
