Our lamb hearts are sourced from British abattoirs with the highest standards of animal welfare, they are a natural by-product of the meat industry.

Please note that although care is taken, some damage may have occurred during slaughter.

Preserved in formalin then Phenoxetol and vacuum packed for storage and delivery. Once opened, use immediately or submerge in preserving fluid.

Frozen sheep hearts are also available, as is the equipment required for dissection practicals.

Use for medical ultrasound

We bought an eye and a heart to explore their potential use for ultrasound teaching. We will need to set them in gelatine. Too early to know if this will work for training though.
The people at Darwin Biological are great to deal with and we will buy more.
