Kalanchoe daigremontiana. Mexican hat plants (also known as 'Devil's Backbone' or 'Mother of Thousands') are a great example of asexual reproduction. Each 'parent' plant produces numerous 'baby' plants along the edge of the leaves. Each 'baby' is formed with leaves and roots, eventually falling off and rooting easily in the soil below.

Grow at room temperature in bright but not direct light. Water once a week once soil is dry, do not over-water.

As the plantlets easily fall off the parent plant it is likely they will separate during transit, however within a few weeks more plantlets will have been produced. As a result please ensure you order with plenty of time if you wish to show the plantlets on the plant to a class.

Available as a pack of 20 plantlets or a single 'mother' plant in 9cm pot. (All pots are re-used and re-usable)

Mexican Hat plant

Nice little plant arrived with lots of babies. Well packaged.

Thanks for the Mexican Hat plants received just over a week ago. I was really impressed with the recyclable jiffy bag and paper the receipt was printed on. All the little babies arrived in a small cardboard box; there was way more than 20. They appeared dehydrated and I was worried I'd lose quite a few but I soon had them potted, and now they are all thriving with many of them doubled in size already. Thank you Darwin for a great service.

Arrived very prompt and in good appearance they are growing well
