Bacillus subtilis, also known as hay bacillus and grass bacillus, is a Gram-positive, rod-shaped aerobic and catalase-positive bacterium. B. subtilis is found in soil and the gastrointestinal tract of animals such as cattle and humans. It is commonly included in probiotic supplements as it supports digestion, enzyme production, immune and digestive system health. Produces amylase, lipase and protease.
