The porcine semen is supplied in a diluent in individual flat packs of 80ml and has a shelf life of 6 days for intended use, although the semen is still motile after that date.
This product is perfect for the BTEC Applied Science (Unit 9, Learning Aim C) where students are encouraged to assess the morphology and motility of sperm under a microscope. This practical activity helps students engage with the material on the causes of infertility in males.

Storage: The optimum temperature to store porcine semen is 17ᵒ +/- 2ᵒ. Store in the original packaging as the polybox will offer some insulation. Avoid any temperature shock, so for example do not store near a heater nor place on a cold concrete floor.
Shelf Life: Semen has a very short shelf life, however it is guaranteed to have at least 60% motility on the day of expiry, usually far more. Please advise when ordering when you require the sample for. 1-2 week lead time.
