Hi again,
I happily award five stars, as your level of Customer Care and courteousness during your call, (following my last review), deserves applause. Now though, onto the nitty-gritty …. Would you believe that, your second delivery of pond water was just as devoid of ‘visible life forms’ as the first. I’m truly not laying the blame at your feet, simply that, it must have something to do with oxygen depletion - that’s my guess. Just as a suggestion, I reckon a simple, secure ‘fit for purpose’ polythene bag, (like the ones a goldfish is carried in), and some air pumped would be a good alternative.
I’m NOT requesting a refund, as I spent hardly anything.
All the best
Jeanette
Dear Jeanette,
Firstly I'm very pleased you had a good experience of our customer services, I'll pass your compliment on!
Regarding our pond samples, when viewed under a microscope, they contain a multitude of algae and protozoa. As they are a natural sample we can't guarantee specific species or the presence of invertebrates, but can assure you that upon dispatch they are teeming with microscopic life.
Many thanks,
Meg
They seem fine, there's not much to say about an agar plate.
Just wish you could get packs of 5 instead of 10, or even singularly wrapped
inside the bag they come in.
The growth medium arrived in good quality. It's easy to use following the guide provided. It's worth noting that one tube of solution is colourless, while the other one is slightly pale pink which may not be easily observed on the photos online.
The algae arrived were in good quality and in adequate concentration which can be used for experiment right away. It offers flexibility without the need to grow it first before use. Very good.
